The newest acquisition of the Longview Museum of Fine Arts permanent collection is Janis Miglavs' photograph, "Mursi God Over Omo River".  The photograph was given to the museum with funds donated by Richard and Kay Holsomback, Barbara Dunn and Tim Shaughnessy.

     

The Longview Museum of Fine Arts recently acquired  Chris Mars'  "Preparing to Vanish"  The artist was a participant in this summer's 44th Invitational and donated this oil & acrylic on board painting.

Reverie - Philippe Faraut

A very recent acquisition of the Longview Museum of Fine Arts was a sculpture by Philippe Faraut which the artist, who has given sculpture workshops at the Museum, generously donated. The name of this beautiful  piece is "Reverie" and the dimensions are 12" x 6" x 5 ".

     

One of the most recent acquisition of the Longview Museum of Fine Arts is a sculpture called Gods and Goddesses #4 by Pat Musick.  The work, which was completed in 1992, is made of steel, stone and shaped canvas.  Its dimensions are 33x39x12.

Another 2005 acquisition of the Longview Museum of Fine Arts is "Paradise," a photograph from the Keith Carter  collection.

     

This recent acquisition was donated by Rosamaria Ellis Clark.  The work is entitled "Llano Quemado #5" by R.C. Ellis.  This painting was completed in 1973 and is composed of mixed media on linen.

Landscape - Davis Mountains

Frederick Jarvis (1868-1944), a Texas artist, created this painting, a landscape of the Davis Mountains, which  was given by Margaret Orne and Verner E. Kelly in honor of LeGrande D. Kelly and Virginia Lou Kelly.

     
     

This recent addition was donated by Albino Hinojosa.  It is  an acrylic on masonite painting entitled "Gentle Touch."

Drought Flowers - Robert P. Kinsell

This recent addition is a work by Robert P. Kinsell, who uses familiar forms and objects to increase the possibility of communication and interaction with the viewer.  Oil on Panel

     

This recent acquisition is (2nd) Monkey Strider, 1973, a work by  Irving Kriesberg, an American born in 1919. 

The painting is  the 'second' in a series of Monkey Strider paintings Kriesberg did in the early 1970's and is signed and dated.

The medium is oil on canvas and the dimensions are 48 x 57 inches.
