Life imitates art.  This saying was illustrated one evening I spent with several adults. Standing shyly behind my mother in the crowded art opening, I heard excited voices and peeked around her to see the focus of all the attention.  Genuine laughter filled the air as I caught sight of a woman with spiraling, red hair coming towards me.  At first, I was intimidated, but then she greeted me as if I was the only person in the room; instantly, I was transfixed. 

My subsequent encounters with Nancy Lamb have been just as engaging. She has an incredible way of always making me feel distinct from others.  Nancy’s presence radiates throughout any room she enters, and the same brilliance emanates from her wonderful paintings.  Although she has earned the reputation as one of Texas’ most prolific painters, she remains friendly and genuine, just like the first time I met her. - Grace Guttersen
