The Longview Museum of
Fine Arts held its first Short Exposure exhibit was
held in 2008. Since that time we have expanded the
show to a two-week event. The upcoming exhibit will
include both local photographers and photographers
from the Mid-South Region. It will be a juried event.

information. The Longview Museum of Fine Arts is
providing a venue for photographic artists to exhibit
their work in a museum setting. The scope of work is
intended to show varied aspects of the photographic
art form. From traditional to digital, all
photographic techniques, subject matter, and styles
are welcome. The Longview Museum of Fine Arts reserves
the right to accept or reject any images.

Fee and Eligibility:
Each photographer may enter up to
five images. Entry fee for museum members is $25, non-members $35. To become a
member of the Longview Museum of Fine Arts please
click here to
sign up online. Submission of entries by both members and non-members does not
guarantee acceptance into the show. Accepted entries will be notified by
February 9, 2012. All applicants must be 17 years or older.
Entry Requirements:
- Each photographer
may submit a total of five images on CD or DVD or
email.

Include a short artist statement about the work, a
one-page resume, and title list of the five
submitted images, which should include the title,
date, and dimensions of the work.

Please follow submission requirements. Failure to do
so will result in immediate rejection of work
Submission
requirements:

All work must be the
original work of the photographer and executed in a
professional manner. If the work is for sale, please
include the sale price on the
entry form, otherwise indicate NFS.

Images must be
submitted on CD or DVD in .jpg format or emailed to
education@lmfa.org
-
Files must be 72
pixels/inch and no greater than 1024 pixels in the
longest dimension.

Files should be named
using the number corresponding to the entry form
along with the photographer’s last name (example:
Smith01.jpg)

CD/DVD should be
labeled with the photographer’s name.

The CD/DVD should be
mailed along with
entry form, artist’s statement, resume, and
entry fee to the Longview Museum of Fine Arts, P.O.
Box 3484, Longview, TX 75606.

CD/DVDs will be
returned if a self-addressed envelope is included.

The deadline for
submitted entries has been extended until February 1, 2012

Notification of
accepted entries will be no later than February 9,
2012. Photographers will be notified of accepted
entries via email, telephone, or mail.

Delivery of accepted
work:
-
Deadline for delivery
of accepted images is February 24, 2012.

All images must be properly
framed and wired for hanging with either a metal frame or a wooden frame not to
exceed 30 inches x 30 inches. Shipped work must use plexi-glass and
hand-delivered work may use glass. Images that are not properly framed
will not be displayed.

Shipped work must be
packed in reusable cartons and return postage must
be included. Work may be hand delivered by the
deadline date. No late entries will be accepted.

CD/DVDs will be returned if a
self-addressed envelope is included.

1st place winner will also
receive a place in the LMFA Summer Exhibit, July 14 through August 25, 2012.
Winner will need to provide up to 12 ready-to-hang pieces for the show. Winner
will also be featured on the cover of the Longview Museum of Fine Arts Summer
Newsletter.
