I
think there is a bit of implied theatre
in what I do. It is a theatre of the
interior. These woodenheads are like
puppets. They attract from the periphery
because of the low relief forms. They
reach out and speak from the sides as
well as the front...And what do they say?
Well, read the poems. The poems are
inspired by the interior life of my inner
circle and I. They are then mixed with
flights into what these fictional heads
might be thinking or saying.
You
will find that the poems are
"styled" to go with the
paintings by graphic designer Bob Bretz.
It is a pleasant game to look at what
elements Bob used to get the paintings
and poems to fit together. The ambiance
created by this use of words and
paintings creates work that touches both
hemispheres of the brain and hopefully
the soul as well.
