From aboriginal to abstract, uncommon artists create the unexpected: a look at the abby-normal world of absolutely fabulous art! Chalk at the caveman zoo, cavort with Klee-assemble asymmetrical geometricals: out of control artplay!

Intro to Welded - Metal Sculpture
Morning Class: 10:00 - 11:30 (Location TBA)
Ages: 18 and up
Max Class Size: 10

Explore the fun world of welded metal sculpture. Create 3D sculptures using the MIG or ARC welding process. Bring long sleeve shirt, long pants, socks, closed toe shoes, and safety glasses/goggles. Welding gloves and helmets will be provided. You will weld the first day: bring your imagination so you can create finished sculptures this week!

The Art of Sushi

We will discuss the history of sushi, the definition of the different styles, and create various forms of sushi. I will give the recipe for the Perfect sushi rice and the ingredient build for many of our favorite rolls. I will teach fool proof techniques to creating your own work of art in any form.

Elements of art, s-t-r-e-t-c-h-e-d a little...what CAN you do with a line? Explore the diversity of styles emerging from Warhol’s first pop on the artscene to connecting the dot-to-dots of Pointillism (picture Seurat)…let’s compare and compose our own still life’s and play at finding our style

Portrait drawing with different media (pencil, charcoal, ink, & paint)
Morning: 9:00 - 11:00
Grades: 15-Adult

We will explore a different medium each day.  The ink should be liquid india ink.  The paint can be the choice of the artist.  If a student is just wanting to explore their skills and does not want to invest in new art supplies, he or she can bring what materials are available from home.  Each participant must have at least a pencil, eraser, paper and charcoal or pastel colors.

Creating an easy familiarity with all aspects of the Digital Camera while fostering an understanding of how digital images can be used and edited in Adobe Photoshop after an exposure is made.

Basket Weaving

Ages: 16-Adult

Lee teaches the same basket weaving skills that have been passed down through time. The natural beauty and design of the baskets make them both functional and decorative. Participants will have the opportunity to design their own pattern or work with one of Lee's original designs.

Perspective Drawing with Jan Statman
(This is a 4 day class) Tuesday - Friday
Afternoon Class: 1:30 - 2:30
Ages: 17-Adult

Perspective Drawing is the technique used to represent three-dimensional images on a two-dimensional surface.  This class will give you significant horizons as it introduces you to the mysteries of eye levels, one and two point perspectives, vanishing points and linear and aerial perspective.  Four one hour sessions.

Deserted Island Art! Life is complicated, so let's keep art simple! Castaway with a box of art supplies that floated ashore, children discover again the value of skills and imagination over fancy fru fru add-on's. Simple is simply best! Survivors utilize the elements of art to create a book cover for the bestseller they write upon rescue form the island…challenging for kids whose imaginations crave a good story.

Animal portraits: 1st through 3rd graders will focus on the painting style of George Rodrigue.  Rodrigue is a Cajun artist who paints his native Louisiana and is known for his creation of the Blue Dog series featuring a blue-hued dog.  Children will need to bring a head- on photograph of their own dog (or other animal) or a picture of the type of animal they would like to paint.

Pigs & Pugs Meet the Wild Things: Modern Art for Children

Book-lovers unite: experiment with tools children’s book illustrators use to create the art for their best-loved books and collaborate to make a take-home book. Olivia (of red carpet pig-book fame) will show up to help you select her favorite colors and Max, King of the Wild Things, will hope to try on your new crown!
