THE VISION
The
Longview Museum of Fine Arts is
"on the grow," seeking
to serve a wider and more diverse
audience by offering more
opportunities at the Museum
through the centerpiece of the
Museum's expansion project:
ArtWorks. This new facility,
adjacent to the current Museum
will serve as an area for
classrooms, exhibits, lectures,
workshops and performing art
events. Three key features for
ArtWorks include: New Exhibits,
an Art Education Director, and
art activities for the whole
family.

Classes &
Schedules
The
purpose of building this facility
is to expand the number of
educational activities offered at
the Museum. This is a real need.
Only two of the five public
schools in the Longview area
offer formal art instruction to
students in grades 1st-5th. Few
children have the opportunity to
experience quality art education,
particularly those young people
who come from families with
limited resources. With a new
facility and additional
personnel, LMFA will greatly
enrich cultural opportunities for
families in East Texas. Children
as well as adults in the Longview
area need to be given the
valuable experience to stimulate
their imagination, to enhance
learning opportunities and to
develop an appreciation for the
arts.
We
are in need of classroom space
for both children's and adults'
art classes. Were asking
for your help, for both the
present and future of Longview.
We believe in the growth of our
city, the needs of our citizens,
and the beautification of our
downtown area. We believe you can
help make this dream possible.
