Andy Warhol
January 16 – March 24, 2018
Opening: Saturday, January 13, 2018 @ 6pm
LMFA is kicked off its 60th anniversary with Rediscovering Andy Warhol, an exhibit featuring Warhol’s entire Cowboys and Indians series and five companion pieces, including a one-of-a-kind graphite drawing of Buffalo Bill and Sitting Bull.
Work from Warhol’s popular Botticelli’s goddess of Venus and his 1985 ads portfolio among many other iconic images were also on display. More than 30 works in all.
This incredible private collection is paired with Warhol Polaroids and photographs from the Meadows Museum at Centenary College in Shreveport. These Polaroid photos of celebrities will join silver gelatin snapshots and allow a glimpse into the artist’s personal life.

Opening
Rediscovering Andy Warhol was organized by the Longview Museum of Fine Arts. The exhibition from local art collections is organized and curated by LMFA. Exhibitions are made possible in part through a grant from theCity of Longview, the Cultural Activities Advisory Commission and the support of LMFA members and sponsors. Special thanks to our anonymous donor for sharing their personal collection of Warhol screen prints and original drawings and to the Meadows Museum of Art at Centenary College.
