**We must be notified 7 days prior to the class start date for refunds to be given. Please call the museum to let us know if your child will not attend the class.

Woven Yarn Art

Make your very own version of Van Gogh’s, Starry Night, using yarn as your creative medium! This class will provide students with a bit of art history and introduces them to other types of mediums for creating art!

Self Portraits

Draw your likeness and then use watercolor paints and acrylic paints to add your own spin on your portrait!

Approach to Abstraction

Learn techniques to distill your subjects down to their essence. Focus on simplified geometic shapes, lines and blocks of color to create unique, minimalist inspired art. Use simple, alternative supports and media, like folded paper or wooden blocks, to give creative impact to your work.

Ceramics

Have fun playing in the mud! Learn how to make your own clay artworks by hand. Make a pinch pot and learn coil and slab building techniques for creating beautiful pottery and sculptures with clay.

Creative Collage

Explore creative approaches to unleash their inner artists by creating their own works by studying line, pattern, color, and inspiration with collage and drawing.

Exploring Watercolors

Mary Jean Davis, artist and teacher, will take you on four unique journeys while exploring watercolor techniques with a focus on design elements. Come learn from a teacher who has years of experience in creating and teaching others to find their love of expressing themselves through the medium of watercolor. This class is designed for students with higher skills and knowledge of painting and is open to older teenagers and adults.

Yarn Painting

Learn to use two types of mediums to create art in this class. Paint and yarn! Students will paint their picture using a variety of paint media, then use yarn to add a finishing touch!

Floral Painting in Pastels

Mary Jean Davis, artist and teacher will teach the basic application of pastels in floral still life and floral paintings. Come learn from a teacher who has years of experience in creating and teaching others to find their love of expressing themselves through the medium of pastels. This class is designed for older teenagers and adults.
