Each year, the museum brings in culturally and historically significant works from the 19th century to the present and hosts nearly a dozen curated exhibitions featuring Texas-based artists, emerging contemporary artists from across the United States, internationally established artists, and students from the East Texas region.
Longview Museum of Fine Arts is home to nearly 1,200 works of art including paintings, woodcuts, photographs, sculpture, lithographs, serigraphs, collages, and works on paper. The collection has a core collection of early Texas Regionalist art from the 1940s – 1970s, but has grown to include postmodern and contemporary works established by Texas artists and American masters.
