LMFA’s Permanent Collection contains nearly 1,000 works of art includes paintings, woodcuts, photographs, sculpture, lithographs, serigraphs, collages, and works on paper. Works center on early Texas regional art from the 1930s and 1970s.  To fully represent diversity and provide robust art education, the museum’s collection also includes culturally and historically significant works from the 19th century to present times. Internationally established artists such as Dali, Warhol and Picasso are represented in the collection, alongside emerging contemporary talents. LMFA continues to increase its collection through donor-gifted works of art and by selecting works for purchase.
