From iconic portraits of cowboys to paintings depicting the rural landscape, this exhibition featured artwork curated from two private collectors in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Some of the artists on display include members of The Dallas Nine, a group of artists who were active in Dallas and who received nationwide acclaim in the 1930s. This phenomenal exhibition tells the story of “The American West,” offering a glimpse into Texas history and heritage.

Longview Museum of Fine Arts is home to nearly 1,200 works of art including paintings, woodcuts, photographs, sculpture, lithographs, serigraphs, collages, and works on paper. The collection has a core collection of early Texas Regionalist art from the 1940s – 1970s, but has grown to include postmodern and contemporary works established by Texas artists and American masters.
