The Egg Man Project

Get ready to turn ordinary egg cartons into extraordinary works of art! In this hands-on, imagination-filled class, students will transform cardboard egg crates into unique animal portrait sculptures. Using paint, texture, and a variety of creative materials, they’ll bring their favorite animals to life—whether it’s a fierce lion, a colorful bird, or a silly made-up creature. Along the way, students will explore shape, layering, and 3D design while letting their creativity run wild. It’s messy, it’s playful, and best of all—it’s a chance to see everyday materials in a whole new way!

Party Pizzazz

Students will design and create their own unique party decorations inspired by a celebration of their choice. Whether they choose a favorite holiday, a birthday, or a special occasion, students will explore color, theme, and style to bring their ideas to life. Using a variety of materials and techniques, they’ll craft items to make their party come alive! This class encourages creativity, planning, and personal expression as students imagine the perfect party and make decorations that help set the scene for a fun and festive event.

Quilty Canvas: English Paper Piecing

This summer, jump in with us for “Quilty Canvas,” a relaxed, hands-on arts class where we’ll have fun with English Paper Piecing (EPP). Whether you’re looking to pick up a new skill or just want to hang out and create with fellow makers, we’re here to cheer you on and help you sew – and hang – something you’ll love.

Jungle Dreams: Painting Like Rousseau

Step into a world of imagination inspired by Henri Rousseau! In this vibrant morning class, students will explore Rousseau’s signature jungle scenes—filled with bold colors, mysterious animals, and lush greenery.

Young artists will learn how to build their artwork step-by-step using layering techniques in both drawing and painting. From sketching their scene to adding rich textures and details, they’ll discover how to create depth and bring their own imaginative landscapes to life.

Students will be encouraged to dream big as they design their own unique “jungle” worlds—whether realistic or completely fantastical. By the end of class, each artist will leave with a colorful masterpiece and a deeper appreciation for storytelling through art!

Jungle Dreams 2.0: Painting Like Rousseau

Get inspired by the imaginative world of Henri Rousseau in this creative afternoon session! Students will explore Rousseau’s unique style—full of bold colors, dreamlike jungles, and fascinating creatures.

Artists will experiment with a variety of mediums such as paint, drawing materials, and collage to create their own Rousseau-inspired masterpiece. They’ll learn how to combine textures, patterns, and layers to bring their artwork to life in exciting and unexpected ways.

With plenty of room for creativity and self-expression, students will design their own wild scenes—whether it’s a lush jungle, a magical landscape, or something entirely from their imagination. By the end of class, each student will have a one-of-a-kind mixed media artwork bursting with color and personality!

Ink & Flow: Alcohol Ink Painting

Unwind and get a little creative in this vibrant evening class exploring the magic of alcohol ink! Students will experiment with bold colors, fluid movement, and mesmerizing techniques while working on ceramic tiles and other non-porous surfaces. Watch your artwork come to life as inks blend, bloom, and flow in unexpected ways. No experience needed—just come ready to relax, play, and create! By the end of the week, you’ll head home with 3–4 stunning, one-of-a-kind pieces of art!

Spray & Display

Get ready to get a little messy and a lot creative! In this hands-on class, students will transform simple materials into bold, eye-catching sculptures. Using a hanger as the base, we’ll build up exciting shapes with expanding spray foam—watching it grow and take on a life of its own!

Once the forms are set, students will bring their creations to life with colorful paints, textures, and fun accessories to add personality and flair. From abstract masterpieces to whimsical creatures, no two projects will be the same.

By the end of class, each student will leave with a totally unique, display-worthy sculpture and a new appreciation for thinking outside the box (and the canvas!).

The Tin Spin

Get ready to twist, turn, and transform everyday objects into a one-of-a-kind creation! In this imaginative, hands-on class, students will design and build their very own “tin friend” using recycled materials like tin cans, boxes, screws, bolts, buttons, and more.

With a mix of creativity and light construction, students will explore how to assemble, layer, and attach different pieces to bring their quirky characters to life. Will your tin friend be a goofy robot, a funky creature, or a cool mini sculpture? The possibilities are endless!

Students will also have the chance to add personality with paint, patterns, and unique details that make their creation truly their own. By the end of class, each student will take home a playful, upcycled masterpiece full of character and charm!

From Earth to Form: Caddo Pottery

Immerse yourself in the rich traditions of Caddo pottery in this hands-on summer class. Taught by featured artist and co-curator of LMFA’s Native Perspectives: America 250 exhibition, Chase Kahwinhut Earles, this course blends history, culture, and technique in an engaging four-day experience.

Daydreams & Doodles

 Young artists will discover the joy of drawing through imaginative play with patterns and color. Using chalk, pencil, markers, and pen, students will learn to turn simple shapes into creative images, colorful scenes, and memorable projects to take home in their first artist portfolio.

Flex your Sketch!

Designed for growing artists, this class helps students develop techniques in shading, perspective, and drawing from observation. Working with a variety of materials, students will create colorful images to express their unique style. In addition to making a keepsake portfolio, artists will take home a collaborative poster that demonstrates the benefit of teamwork and thoughtful creativity.

Treasured Memories: Memory Boxes

Turn moments into masterpieces in this heartfelt, hands-on art class! In Treasured Memories, students will design and create their very own personalized keepsake box—perfect for holding photos, notes, trinkets, and all the little things that matter most.

Guided by artist Roberta Bridges, students will explore a variety of creative techniques including painting, decoupage, and embellishing. From layering meaningful images and patterns to adding decorative touches like charms, textures, and mixed media accents, each box will become a one-of-a-kind reflection of the artist’s story.

Whether you’re preserving special memories or creating a meaningful gift, this class is all about creativity, self-expression, and celebrating what you treasure most. Students will leave with a beautifully finished keepsake box and a piece of art filled with personal meaning.

Discovering the Masters

Get ready to travel through time and creativity in Discovering the Masters! In this exciting, hands-on class, young artists will explore the bold, colorful, and imaginative worlds of some of history’s most famous creators—like Pablo Picasso, Vincent van Gogh, and more.

Each day brings a new artistic adventure as students learn about different styles, techniques, and stories behind these legendary artists. From swirling brushstrokes and vibrant colors to abstract shapes and playful perspectives, kids will experiment with fun and unique ways to create their own masterpieces inspired by the greats.

Take A Look At Yourself

Get ready to see yourself in a whole new way! In Take a Look at Yourself, young artists will dive into the fun and fascinating world of portrait art while learning the basics of facial proportions—like where eyes, noses, and mouths really go (hint: it’s not always where you think!).

Students will build confidence in drawing faces step-by-step, then take things further by adding their own creative twists. Inspired by artists like Frida Kahlo and Andy Warhol, kids will experiment with bold colors, patterns, and imaginative details to turn their portraits into unique works of art that truly reflect their personalities.

Bare Essentials: Approaches to Abstraction

Strip it down and discover the power of simplicity in Bare Essentials: Approaches to Abstraction. This engaging class invites artists to move beyond detail and focus on what truly matters—learning how to distill subjects down to their most essential forms.

Inspired by the bold, simplified works of artists like Piet Mondrian and Kazimir Malevich, students will explore how to use geometric shapes, expressive lines, and intentional blocks of color to create striking, minimalist compositions. Monet’s Garden: Art In Bloom

Step into the dreamy, colorful world of Claude Monet! In this fun and imaginative class, young artists will explore the beautiful flowers that inspired Monet’s famous paintings—from water lilies to vibrant garden blooms.

Students will learn about the soft, layered brushstrokes and light-filled colors of Impressionism while creating their own floral masterpieces. Using paint, mixed media, and a touch of creativity, kids will experiment with blending colors, dabbing techniques, and capturing the feeling of a garden in full bloom.

Happy Little Landscapes

Let your imagination wander into a world of rolling hills, glowing sunsets, and peaceful forests in Happy Little Landscapes! This fun and engaging class introduces young artists to the basics of drawing and painting beautiful outdoor scenes.

Students will explore the building blocks of landscape art—learning how to create depth using foreground, middle ground, and background, mix colors for skies and land, and use simple techniques to paint trees, mountains, clouds, and water. Through step-by-step demonstrations and hands-on experimentation, kids will build confidence while discovering their own unique creative style.

Along the way, we’ll play with texture, layering, and blending to create different moods and atmospheres—from bright sunny days to misty, magical evenings. The class culminates in an original atmospheric landscape painting, where students bring everything they’ve learned together to create a scene full of depth, color, and imagination.

Painted Views: Landscape Painting

Immerse yourself in the beauty of landscape painting while exploring the versatility of acrylics in this engaging, skill-building class for adults. Atmospheric Landscapes in Acrylic is designed to guide artists of all levels through the fundamentals of creating compelling, expressive scenery.

Students will learn essential techniques such as color mixing, layering, and brushwork to capture skies, land, and water with depth and realism. We’ll focus on building strong compositions and creating a sense of atmosphere—whether that’s a soft, hazy horizon, dramatic clouds, or glowing light at sunrise or sunset.

The Talking Stick

Inspired by storytelling traditions where a Talking Stick is used to create respectful spaces for listening and sharing, this class invites students to explore how art can represent ideas, stories, and personal expression.

Students will begin by learning about the symbolism of the Talking Stick and how objects can be used to communicate meaning and encourage respectful dialogue within a community.

Each camper will then design and create their own Talking Stick using natural branches and mixed media materials. Students will decorate their sticks with beads, yarn, ribbon, feathers, and other textured elements while exploring ideas of symbolism, storytelling, and artistic expression.

Cat’s Eye Weaving

Students will explore traditional weaving techniques known as the Cat’s Eye, or Ojo de Dios. Using simple sticks and colorful yarn, students will learn how to build layered geometric patterns whole experimenting with color, rhythm, and symmetry. As their weaving grows, students will embellish their pieces with beads, feathers, and found objects to create a unique hanging sculpture. This project introduces cultural storytelling, fiber art techniques, and personal expression while encouraging patience and creativity.

Fresh Fun: Practical Flower Arranging

Learn about the fascinating nuances of floral event design! After an informational session about the process behind flowers and design, students will learn to put together several fresh flower creations. They will create and take home their very own boutonnieres, hand wrapped bouquets, and vase arrangements made together during the classes.

Fold & Create!

Get ready to fold, draw, and be amazed! In this playful and imaginative class, young artists will explore the magic of transforming paper into expandable works of art.
